Sam and Pony are quite the lovely couple. This charming pair is very sweet, and will be terrific pets. Bunnies tend to be considerably happier when they’re in pairs and always have someone to snuggle with (who doesn't like that?). These two will probably be fine with children, but keep in mind that rabbits are sensitive. Spend some time with them and you'll see how they will melt anyone's heart!
Lizzie is a very sweet rabbit, somewhat shy at first, but willing to make friends. At MHS, she enjoys checking out visitors. Going nice and slow with her will help build up her trust with people. Give her lots of softly spoken praise and she'll warm up even faster. She really does love petting! She's easy to pick up and doesn't mind being held for a little while. With time and love, this lovely rabbit will make a wonderful bunny companion. Ask to meet Lizzie!
Curiosity 1-year-old
Spayed Female
American Rabbit
This sweet, lively bunny has a lot of energy to burn. She's curious (obviously), friendly, calm and she gets bored easily! She loves petting, but when she isn’t on your lap she's likely to be looking around for places to explore. Give her tunnels to investigate, boxes to climb on with edges to nibble, and toys to knock around. Curiosity will probably be a good first rabbit for grade school age kids. A little investment of time will pay off with years of fun and love with this beautiful rabbit.
Melody Adult
Spayed Female
American Rabbit
Melody is sweet, curious, mellow, and a bit shy. She's very easy to pick up and is fine with being held for short periods of time. Melody is definitely interested in people, but is a little shy of hands. Because of that we feel that her new family should be adults only or older, quieter children. If children try to pet her too much or aren't gentle with her, it will only make her more shy. Ask to meet this soft and sweet bun!
Teddy and Pistol Adult
Neutered Male
Domestic Rabbits
Teddy and Pistol are two really handsome rabbits with fun personalities. Just wait until you see them snuggle up after a day of romping ... it's too cute! They are both curious about people and their surroundings, and approach people to people to be petted. Teddy is the more outgoing of the two and easier to handle. Both are ok with being picked up and held for short periods of time. They will be happiest with a lot of space to hop around in, because they have lots of energy to burn off!
Violet and Vanessa Young Adult
Female
Rats
These sweet girls are looking for a family that will take their time to get to know them and give them lots of love. Both Violet and Vanessa are outgoing girls who are fine being held. These curious critters are sure to bring many smiles to everyone they meet. Daily interaction with Violet and Vanessa is a necessity to keep them social. These two should be fine with kids. Ask to meet these cuties and you'll see why so many people enjoy having rats as part of their family!
Coco 3-year-old
Spayed Female
Mini Lop-Eared Rabbit
Coco, a charming lop eared bunny, is shy with people she doesn't know, but she's tolerant of handling and surprisingly easy to pick up for a shy bunny. But watch out for those enormous back feet! Coco is a very active bunny. She's busy, busy, busy, exploring, hopping around and checking things out. This girl will need lots of room to roam and stretch out. When she's on the move, wind her up and watch her go! This entertaining girl could keep you amused for years to come!
Carmen 1 1/2-year-old
Female
Smooth Hair Guinea Pig
Sweet Carmen is ready to go to home that will keep her forever! Her next home will be her sixth. That's a lot of moving around for a piggie! Her last home had a dog that unfortunately was too focused on her. Carmen is a little shy about being picked up, but once you have her on your lap she relaxes and enjoys petting. Spend some time with this very sweet and cute girl. You'll see why guinea pigs can be a great family pet and just how much love they can give.
Christie Adult
Spayed Female
Rex Rabbit
This beautiful rabbit is waiting for a quiet home to call her own. Christie was found by a caring citizen and brought here. She has been very well cared for and is a really sweet bun! Christie is very independant and confident. In Rabbit Romper Room she really enjoys stretching out, sniffing around and just being in a quiet area. Time outside of her enclosure will be a must to keep her physically healthy and mentally stimulated. Rabbits can live to be 10-12 years of age. That's a lot of time to enjoy petting her soft fur and receiving lots of love from her!
Gypsy is a spirited and charming bunny who would love to come home with you. She was found stray in Mill Valley - how does such a nice bunny go missing? Gypsy is interested in meeting people and loves being petted. Like many rabbits, she doesn't really like to be picked up. The best way to handle her is to let her get comfortable with you first. Once you've created a bond of trust, handling is much easier, and she’ll be content to sit in your lap like a cat!
Susie Jane 1-year-old
Spayed Female
Hotot Rabbit
Pretty little Susie Jane loves petting and will come ask for attention if she feels comfortable. She also loves to chew on toys. If you play tug with her, she'll always win - she loves that game! Susie Jane is quite shy for such a beauty, which means she might not appreciate the way most kids play with rabbits. She’s likely to be happiest in a bunny-savvy adult household where love and patience will win her over. Despite her shyness, Susie Jane is very sweet. She may be your match!
Nadia is one spunky bunny! Be ready to give this girl lots of room to explore and things to play with. Nadia, like many bunnies, is wary of being picked up, but with confident bunny handling she settles down just fine. She's happiest when you sit on the floor with her and "let her do her thing." She'll come up into your lap to check you out, and then she's off to find her next adventure. As she gets to know you, she will enjoy your company more and more.
Bam Bam is a fun little bunny, curious and ready to rock. Bam Bam is pretty good about being picked up - if you're relaxed and give him good support then he'll be relaxed too. He's a little wiggly in your lap, but keep petting him and he'll settle in. Bam Bam really loves to explore. Inside his enclosure you can offer him boxes and tunnels. Outside his enclosure, the world is his oyster. Meet the delightful Bam Bam. You'll be his buddy in no time!
Charming 1-year-old
Neutered Male
Rhinelander Rabbit
Charming is gentle and fun to be around. He’s a relatively easy rabbit to handle. He loves treats such as leafy greens and he's very playful with plastic toys. Because of his active nature, Charming will want to have a lot of space to move around in. Give him lots of things to play with and mix up his toys from time to time. He'll also enjoy tunnels and boxes to explore. A healthy house rabbit can live 10-12 years - a charmed life indeed.
Austin came to MHS as a tiny baby several months ago, and is ready for more permanent digs. At this size Austin will need a 30-40 gallon tank, but red-eared sliders grow quickly and with an adult size of 8-12 inches s/he will need a much larger aquarium or a secure backyard pond to live in. With proper care and a healthy diet, you may find Austin is still at your side twenty years from now! Are you ready for the long term commitment? Than Austin just might be the turtle for you!
Lindsay Adult
Female
Hamster
Hamsters are small and only live about three years, but they do deserve quality care and a commitment from their guardians. Like all hamsters, Lindsay is more active at night than during the day. And also like most hamsters, she prefers to be handled gently and with patience. We recommend that her new family be adults only or have children that really understand how small and delicate she is. Ask to meet this little girl and you'll discover why so many people love having a hamster!
Harry Potter 1 1/2-year-old
Neutered Male
Netherland Dwarf Rabbit
Harry Potter was brought to us because he was territorial with the family cat. It just shows how much a shy bunny can find his true self in the right home! Originally thought of as shy and curious, Harry clearly thrived in a savvy bunny home where he proved his self confidence. This bunny will be great with kids, but no cats or dogs, please. Once Harry feels safe he will enjoy roaming around the room, exploring every nook and cranny. In his previous home Harry used his litter box regularly.
