Dog Classes & Workshops
The Marin Humane Society offers reasonably priced, enjoyable dog training classes
and workshops that will help your dog become the companion you want.
Our instructors use positive reinforcement to help solve your dog's behavior problems
and teach him or her to walk on a leash without pulling, to sit or lie down quietly,
to come when called and to wait at doors.
In addition, we offer information on nutrition, grooming, nails, fleas and ticks,
and specific behavior concerns.
Beginning Puppy
Beginning socialization, management, handling, and manners class for puppies 10-16 weeks old (up to four months) at the start of the series. At least 2 sets of shots are required. The first class is a people-only orientation. $150 for a six class series. (First class is 1 1/2 hours long, all other classes 1 hour.)
Bull Breed Basics
(SPECIAL BREED CLASS) For dogs 5 months or older. Basic obedience that also addresses specific training needs. Relevant breeds and breed mixes are: Boxers, Bulldogs, Pit Bulls, Staffordshire terriers, Rottweilers and Mastiffs. Telephone screening consultation required prior to enrollment. Family Dog 1
For dogs 4 months and older. A beginning-level class teaching the fundamentals of good manners - sit, down, stay, come, polite greetings and walking, wait at doors, and leave it. FIRST CLASS IS MANDATORY AND FOR PEOPLE ONLY, NO DOGS, PLEASE! $150 for 6 weeks. (First class is 1 1/2 hours long, all other classes 1 hour.)
Family Dog 1 - Corte Madera CCtr

Family Dog 1 - Tamalpais Valley
Our Family Dog 1 class, is being offered at Tamalpais Valley Community Center. Located at 203 Marin Avenue. From 101 Take CA-1 North exit towards Stinson Beach, at the first light, turn left follow road around & take left on TENNESSEE VALLEY RD.; Right onto MARIN AVE; The Center is on your left. Senior Handling Class
Senior handlers (62+) or disabled. For dogs 4 months and older. FIRST CLASS IS MANDATORY AND FOR PEOPLE ONLY, NO DOGS, PLEASE! $75 for 6 weeks. (First class is 1 1/2 hours long, all other classes 1 hour.)Limited to 8 dogs/handlers
Small Dog 1
For small-breed dogs 4 months and older that will be 30 lbs. and under as adults. A beginning-level class teaching the fundamentals of good manners - sit, down, stay, come, polite greetings and walking, wait at doors, and leave it - with attention to small-breed training issues. FIRST CLASS IS MANDATORY AND FOR PEOPLE ONLY, NO DOGS, PLEASE! $150 for 6 weeks. (First class is 1 1/2 hours long, all other classes 1 hour.)
