Sponsor a Senior
... and Their Animal Companion
"Tucker is my best friend and only companion. We're growing old together. I wouldn't be able to keep him in my life without the assistance of the SHARE program at the Marin Humane Society."
Please help low-income seniors and their pets like Tucker spend their golden years together. It costs an average of $300 to provide a senior citizen's pet with much-needed vet care, food, and medications for an entire year.
This is one of the most important ways that you can help seniors to maintain their independence and quality of life.
By sponsoring a senior you will:
- Enable animal companions to stay with their humans. Many low-income seniors are forced to give up their long term companions prematurely due to financial instability.
- Enhance the quality of life of a senior and their animal companion.
- Provide a senior with the security of knowing that their animal companion will be taken care of. When a SHARE client becomes ill or passes away, their animals will be taken of.
Please consider sponsoring a senior's companion for one year for $300, 6 months for $150, or any period of time you can afford. As a sign of gratitude, you will receive a photo of the animal as well as their biography or stories about them. Businesses that join the Sponsor a Senior program can receive additional benefits.
